This major is a challenging and flexible program that develops global managerial competencies for professionals with financial responsibility. Its curriculum is aligned to the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute's Candidate Body of Knowledge and can help you successfully pass the CFA's examinations.

You'll learn through in-class learning, guided independent research and team projects. You'll focus on corporate finance, investments, international business, banking and financial modelling.

You'll gain hands-on experience with LSEG Eikon trading and analysis software and get familiar with the stock market simulation tool StockTrack. This means you'll have industry standard software, international news services and live securities and commodity prices at your fingertips.

  • Apply financial concepts, theories and technologies used in the finance industry to solve real-world financial challenges to optimise financial, societal and global business outcomes, GC1, GC2.
  • Demonstrate analytical, quantitative and technological skills to process, interpret and evaluate financial data and information to collaborate and work effectively within a diverse global industry, GC1, GC3, GC4.
  • Understand how cultural considerations, ethical principles and professional standards support the growth of sustainable and ethical practices in finance, with an awareness of how the finance industry can engage respectfully with local First Nation Peoples, GC4, GC5.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally to diverse audiences utilising various digital technologies, medium and teamwork as appropriate for different stakeholders, organisations, and cultural backgrounds, GC3, GC6.
