Course Highlights

Environmental governance professions require skills that were not necessary a few years ago. Global law firms and international organisations require lawyers and policy professionals to build capacity, understand corporate social responsibility and the ability to negotiate and form partnerships.

This programme centres on the complexity of environmental decision-making when integrating scientific considerations with legal and policy outcomes. Alongside traditional legal skills, you will become familiar with environmental governance literacy and application, collaboration with stakeholders and the application of the legal solution to environmental problems and sustainability.

It will address current and emerging demands, and cover topics such as climate change, renewable energy, the protection of living and non-living natural resources, human rights and environmental migrants. Taught by academic experts in sustainability law, you will develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the global legal regimes, as well the skills required for environmental governance.

You will also benefit from wider opportunities, such as our yearly careers convention, giving you access to leading law firms across the country and a chance to gain vital industry contacts.
